Having a skincare product with multiple functions is a great way to save money, declutter your bathroom and cut down on packaging waste.
Saffron Petal Glow does all of these, with the added benefit of utilising a locally sourced ingredient and plastic free packaging.
Opting for a multi-tasking product may also be the solution to skin that is irritated and inflamed from using too many products with potent ingredients.
If you think you have been over exfoliating or overusing chemical peels, Saffron Petal Glow will cleanse, rebalance and refresh skin with gentle British Kaolin Clay. Although it’s less absorbent than otherr clays, this characteristic makes it ideal for those with dry and sensitive skin.
The other gentle cleanser is Organic Tapioca starch, which is extracted from cassava root. It gently absorbs oils, and is responsible for giving our powder a luxurious, fine and smooth feel.
On researching exfoliations suitable for dry skin, I settled on Jojoba seeds and Bamboo Powder.
The jojoba seeds I use are finely grounded, making them suitable for facial use. They are biodegradable, extremely gentle, and like Bamboo powder, considered suitable for everyday use.
Bamboo powder is extracted from a translucent white substance, from the nodal joints of some species of bamboo and called ‘Tabasheer’ in traditional Indian medicine.
It is a microdermabrasion-grade exfoliant and is a safe and gentle way to effectively exfoliate the surface layer of the skin, revealing renewed, refreshed and younger-looking skin.
As a multi-tasker, you can choose between washing, polishing and deep cleansing. Here is an example of how our customer Carolyn uses it (including her skin results):
Luxurious Product to use
Versatile product, as it can be use a number of ways on your face. I like that its a fine silky powder and is easy to use in its various formats. For a mask you will need a small bowl to mix it in and i used a clean flat brush to paint it on my face as a mask.
Feels very pampering. I have liked using it as a daily cleanser as all i do is mix a small amount in the palm of my hand then apply to my face and wash off, I can confirm my skin is a lot softer and smoother making it the perfect base for other products especially the saffron serum oil. A lovely luxurious product to use.
When to use as a daily cleanser
You find foaming cleansers a little too drying for your skin.
You want a cleansing product with plant based natural ingredients, which are gentle on dry and sensitive skin.
You enjoy the process of mixing and prepping your products for use
How to use as a daily cleanser
Pour about a teaspoon of Saffron Petal Glow on to wet hands and rub together to create a wet, creamy paste. Gently massage into the skin and rinse.
When to use as a facial polish
Your skin is a bit sensitive to chemical peels and prefers a gentle polish.
You prefer a gentle exfoliator that can be used on a regular basis without drying out skin.
You are experiencing menopausal symptoms and noticing your skin is becoming dry and flaky and need an exfoliator to remove debris and allow fresh new skin cells to surface and restore a brighter and rebalanced complexion.
How to use as a facial polish
It’s important to keep the skin clean, exfoliating on a regular basis. For normal skin and drier skin types, you can use Saffron Petal Glow 2 x per week. If you have sensitive and dry skin, do not polish more than once per week.
The best way to use Saffron Petal Glow as a facial polish is to massage the clay paste onto the skin in circular motions for up to 1 minute. If your mask starts to dry during this time, just apply a few drops of water to fingertips and continue to exfoliate.
Pay careful attention to dry patch areas, such as your T-zone.
Use warm water and a facial cloth to remove the mask.
To prepare, simply add two heaped teaspoons of clay into a blow and add a few drops of water at a time to create a creamy paste. Use immediately and do not store any leftover paste.
When to use a Cleansing Mask
A cleansing mask allows more time for the clay to absorb dirt and grime. As it requires more of your time, it is a lovely way to slow down and create a bit of pampering time for yourself, and who doesn’t need that?!
I would recommend masking once per week.
How to Use a Clay Mask
To prepare your mask, simply add two heaped teaspoons of clay into a blow and add a few drops of water at a time to create a creamy paste.
Once you have prepared your mask, you can either apply to your face and neck and allow to dry before removing with a damp facial cloth, or you can mask and polish. So first polish the skin, and then allow the mask to dry for 5-10 minutes before removing it.
Use immediately and do not store any leftover paste.
