Are Clay Masks Suitable For Dry Skin?

We are pleased to announce that we have completed the huge task of picking and processing thousands of Saffron petals and preparing our first few batches of Saffron Glow Cleansing Clay Mask, yay!.
Clay Masks have grown in popularity in recent years as they are an all-natural way of achieving healthy, glowing skin. A high percentage of clay masks are sold in powder form and are ‘activated’ at home by adding a few drops of water and then mixing to become a paste. When applied the clay mixture pulls oil and dirt from the skin, leaving it balanced and clean.
There are many types of clay on the market such as White, Yellow, Pink, Red and Green Clay, Activated Charcoal Clay, Brazilian Purple Clay and Rhassoul Clay. Each clay has its own absorption properties, which are suitable for different skin types.
Will Clay Masks Dry Skin Even Further?
Clay masks will not dry the skin if you choose the right one (each one having its own level of absorbency). White Kaolin Clay is mildly absorbent and is suitable for people with dry, mature or sensitive skin. White Kaolin Clay also contains tiny water insoluble crystals that gently exfoliate dead skin cells that build up on the skin’s surface. Skin cell turnover slows down as we age, causing flaky skin, which tends to clogg the pores and cause the skin to appear dull and wrinkled.
Saffron Glow Cleansing Clay Mask is formulated with White Kaolin Clay and made for dry or mature skin. We have also added Organic Tapioca Starch, which absorbs oils and gives our clay a nice creamy texture, and to help calm and sooth the skin we also included Zinc Oxide.
Saffron petals reinforce the clay with their antioxidant rich properties, including Kaempferol, which has been found to be effective against photodamage (skin damage caused by exposure to UVA/UVB sun rays). Regular cleansing and exfoliating with our clay will brighten the complexion and help your skincare products penetrate the skin properly.
Saffron Glow Cleansing Clay Mask is on sale now. As we can only harvest the petals in October each year this is a limited product, so please don’t leave it too long to place an order (especially as we draw closer to the Christmas season).
As our facial mask was launched on Halloween, I posted on our social media platforms a photo of my family bravely being beta testers of this mask. They attempted a ‘Walking Dead’ pose, which I think they pulled off quite well! Have a look on Instagram!
